A 4-year-old girl is lucky to be alive after falling through a screened second-floor window.
Eleanor Hopkins was walking toward a small playground at an apartment complex near Connecticut Avenue and Bel Pre Road in Aspen Hill, Md., when she heard a strange sound and saw the child falling.
“I went over to make sure she was alright and the grandmother came out the door, but the screen looked kind of strange,” Hopkins said. “It was bent this way and the little girl came that way.”
The girl landed on grass. She was examined at the scene and taken to a local hospital.
All of the screens in the complex had recently been replaced, neighbors told News4’s Jackie Bensen.
