“Celebrate Fairfax” Volunteer Arrested for Embezzlement

A 25-year-old woman working as a volunteer last weekend at "Celebrate Fairfax" was arrested for allegedly embezzling patrons' ticket money.

According to police, Varrie Butler of Chantilly was working as a ticket seller at one of the entrance gates Sunday, and handling a cash box. Police say Butler pocketed the money visitors were paying for their tickets.

The full amount she allegedly embezzled is unknown, but the full amount of it was recovered the same day.
