NPR's Carl Kasell is leaving "Morning Edition" tomorrow after anchoring newscasts since the program debuted 30 years ago.

No more alarms ringing at 1:05 each morning to make sure he's ready for the 5 a.m. newscast.

WAMU's Bill Redlin and Carl shared the airwaves for many years before Bill moved from mornings to midday and the two sat down recently to talk about the past, present and future.

Carl will continue as the official scorekeeper on "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me," NPR's news quiz program which airs Saturday mornings at 11 a.m. on WAMU 88.5.
