Holness had told police that he and his wife were carjacked while returning to Maryland from New York where they had been visiting family. Her body was found on the side of a rural Eastern Shore road earlier Friday.

The car leased by a husband who was charged late Friday night in Kent County with the murder of his wife -- after police found that that his bizarre story of carjacking didn't add up -- has been found in Washington, D.C.

A Metropolitan Police Department officer spotted Ryan D. Holness' 2007 blue Honda Accord parked in the 600 block of I Street, NW, about 11:15 p.m Friday.

Holness, 28, had told police a carjacker had stabbed his 26-year-old wife, Serika Dunkley Holness, to death after she tried to escape from the man, according to a Maryland State Police spokesman. After citing "significant inconsistencies" in Holness' story, police charged Holness with first degree murder.

Maryland State troopers said they are working on a search warrant for the car, which was towed to the Forestville Barracks.

State Police said information about anything observed in the car or evidence recovered after the search warrant will not be released at this time.
