Car Windows Smashed Throughout Alexandria Neighborhood

Someone smashed and shattered the windows of at least 29 vehicles in Alexandria, Virginia, police say.

Trucks, cars and vans of varying makes and models were found with busted windows at several locations in Alexandria's West End neighborhood. The vandalized cars were parked along Rayburn Ave., Kenmore Ave. and Quantrell Ave.

A spokesperson for the Alexandria Police Department said it appears someone used a bat or a pipe to break the windows sometime between late Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

Nothing was taken from inside any of the vehicles.

"I don't understand why they would do something like this," said Dennis Vega, who was out Sunday looking at the damage to his car.

He said he thinks someone hit his car while it was parked, possibly by accident.

Police do not have a suspect.

"I hope the police can catch them, to be honest, because this is ridiculous," Vega said.
