Montgomery County police are trying to figure out who is at fault after a car hit a 12-year-old boy who was walking to school.

Just after 7:30 a.m. the boy was walking to Roberto Clemente Middle School, police said. The car hit him in the intersection of Mateney Road and Cinnamon Drive.

Firefighters rushed him to an area hospital in serious condition.  He is expected to make a full recovery.

Residents who went to the scene said they plan to meet at the next homeowners association meeting to discuss safety measures.
They'll talk about getting speed bumps, cameras or more stop signs in the intersection to help make it safer for children to cross.

The driver stayed at the scene. No charges have been filed.
