Car Crashes into Maryland State Police Cruiser, 3 Injured

Two people remain in the hospital after a crash in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, involving a Maryland State Police trooper on Saturday.

Investigators said Trooper Drake Russell Jr., 23, assigned to the Glen Burnie Barracks, was parked on the left shoulder along U.S. Route 50 at West Street when a car lost control, hit a concrete barrier, and struck the rear end of the trooper’s cruiser.

Two people inside the car and Russell were transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore via helicopter. Russell was treated and released.

The two people in the car, identified as David Krebs, 58, of Annapolis, and Tiffany Kelsey, 39, of Annapolis, are still being treated at Shock Trauma. Their conditions have not been released.
