A canopy designed to give students cover between buildings at American University collapsed Wednesday morning.

The canopy opened last year between the Mary Graydon Center and Battelle on the main campus. It fell down at approximately 11:40 a.m., Student Union Board Director Clay Pencek told the Eagle.

Some parts of the structure -- those closest to Butler Pavilion -- were still standing, according to the Eagle.

There were no reported injuries.
