Calm Before the Heat

The weather out today should be perfect, giving Washingtonians a chance to get out for the day without the crowds.

It may be the last day to spend outdoors for a while. The end of the day will bring high temperatures back to the District for a late-summer revival of the mid-90s days that battered Washington in July and August. Today will reach a high of about 91 degrees, with more 90-degree days expected through the week.

It will be an excellent opportunity to head to the beach, but beware of the riptide.

Washingtonians may expect a full week without any rain -- depending on what bubbles up in the Atlantic as hurricane season continues.
