CAIR Asks FBI to Investigate Threatening Posts on Anti-Islam Blog

WordPress.com urged to removed blog

A Muslim civil rights group is asking the FBI to investigate a series of threatening posts on an anti-Islam website.

The threats posted by visitors to the Bare Naked Islam website include a post from one person who urges Christians to “kill every Muslim twice” and mentions the fact that he routinely drives by a specific northern Virginia mosque. The post also included the comment “I want [Muslim] blood on my hands.”

In making the request, Council for American-Islamic Relations spokesman Ibrahim Hooper said the Internet is replete with hateful commentary about Muslims. But these comments differ because they routinely contain explicit calls for violence, Hooper said.

CAIR asked WordPress.com to remove the site. WordPress.com removed a similar blog last year at CAIR’s request, according to the advocacy group.

The Bare Naked Islam site depicts a mosque in flames and declares “It isn't Islamophobia when they really ARE trying to kill you.”

An email from the Associated Press seeking comment from the site's author was not returned Friday.
