Anne Arundel County police say no one was hurt when one of three burglars fired a shot into the wall of a home after the homeowner warned that he had a weapon of his own.
Officers were called to the 1800 block of Poplar Ridge Road in Pasadena at 11:42 p.m. Monday for a report of a burglary in progress.
The victim told police that he, his wife and their grandson were asleep when they heard noises coming from another part of the house. The man left the bedroom to investigate and yelled out that he was armed with a shotgun. Police say the suspects reacted by firing a shot into a wall and fleeing the scene.
Police say three suspects got away with a laptop and other undetermined items.
The investigation is ongoing.
