George wants you to buckle up.

Buckle up and get a dollar -- because police in Prince George’s County will actually hand you one.

Authorities will be watching passing vehicles at Route 301 and Ballpark Drive in Bowie beginning at noon on Thursday.

Safety advocates will assist officers in distributing $1 bills to drivers who have all passengers properly buckled in. Those caught without seat belts will receive educational materials and possibly a fine.

The Prince George's Community Federal Credit Union and the police department are sponsoring the money giveaway. The program is an extension of the Click It Or Ticket campaign run in Maryland and other states.
