A 7-year-old boy was mauled by two American bulldogs, Anne Arundel County police said.
The boy was flown to a hospital in critical condition after the attack Saturday afternoon at a home in Pasadena, Md.
The dogs were family pets and attacked a woman and her 7-year-old nephew, police said. An officer shot the first dog as it was mauling the boy, police said. The officer was tending to the victims when the second dog lunged at them and the officer shot the animal.
Both dogs were euthanized at the scene.
The dogs began attacking the boy inside the house, police said, and his aunt took him outside to try to protect him, but the dogs followed. The woman suffered minor injuries.
