Bowie Woman Accused of Assaulting Parents, Endangering Child

Kyra Chimere Smith allegedly assaulted her parents before threatening to kill her father

Sheriff’s deputies in Prince George’s County located and arrested a Bowie, Md., woman Monday on an arrest warrant.

The Bowie Police Department filled an arrest warrant for Kyra Chimere Smith on March 10. Smith assaulted her mother and father and then took a knife and threatened to kill her father, according to the warrant.

Then Smith, with her 1-year-old child in her arms, tried to jump from a second-floor window, according to the warrant. Officers restrained Smith before she was able to jump.

Deputies arrested Smith Monday in Largo following an investigation.

Smith is being held on a $175,000 bond at the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.

She faces several charges, including first- and second-degree assault, second-degree child abuse, reckless endangerment, and possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure.
