A body was found in a Prince George's County park Sunday afternoon -- and park police believe it is that of an 80-year-old man who wandered away from a senior day picnic three weeks ago.
Lubin Phipps had been taken to Watkins Regional Park on Sept. 18 by the assisted living center where he was living. He asked to use the restroom and seemed to vanish.
The body was found during a search by Maryland-National Capital Park Police and volunteer search and rescue teams.
Authorities say the body and the clothing matched Phipps' description.
The family has not yet responded to a request for comment.
Phipps' daughter told News4's Darcy Spencer on Friday she was concerned that the assisted living center had not properly supervised her father, who suffers from dementia.
