Body Found on Brookeville Farm

Police believe killing was not random

Police in Montgomery County, Md., said they have some strong leads in the death of an 18-year-old.

A passerby discovered Alex Nando Roman's body early Tuesday morning near the driveway to a 200-acre farm in a remote area near Brookeville Road and Zion Road in Brookeville. The body had obvious signs of trauma, investigators said.

Detectives spent the day combing the area with metal detectors, looking for possible evidence in the case. They do not believe the slaying was a random act of violence and they are hopeful some key clues they've uncovered will lead them to a suspect.

"Investigators are looking at a lot of different things," Montgomery Police Capt. Paul Starks told News4. "There are reports of drug use in this area, but that's not to say they are limiting their scope to just the drug use."

The Medical Examiner's Office ruled the cause of death to be a gunshot wound.
