A body was found Monday morning on the beach in Ocean City, Maryland.
Beachgoers reported the body to city employees about 6:30 a.m., according to a Facebook post from the Ocean City Police Department.
The body was found at Second Street on the beach, said Ocean City communications manager Jessica Waters.
Police are conducting a death investigation, Ocean City police spokeswoman Lindsay Richard said.
Officials have not released any details about the deceased.
"The police investigation is very active and ongoing at this time," the Facebook post said.
