Body Found in Potomac River

No immediate word on age of victim

The body of a male was found floating in the Potomac River Tuesday afternoon just south of the Wilson Bridge and just offshore of National Harbor.

D.C. Fire and EMS officials responded to the scene shortly after 2 p.m. and pulled the body out of the water.

Prince George's County police are investigating.

There was no immediate word on the age of the victim. There was also no word on cause of death.

The body was taken to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy.  There were no obvious signs of trauma, according to officials.
