Blue Line Metro Train Strikes, Kills Trespasser

A man was struck and killed by a Metro train between two stations in Virginia early Saturday morning.

Metro officials said the train was not carrying any passengers when the victim was struck after 3:30 a.m. between the Franconia-Springfield station and the Van Dorn station. The man was trespassing on the Blue Line rail when he was hit.

He was pronounced dead early Saturday.

Officials said the scene has been cleared and train service will not be impacted on Saturday by this incident.
