Blue Angels Cancel More Events

The Blue Angels have canceled more events after a low-maneuver incident earlier this month.

The fighter jet group said Thursday that the scheduled flyover on Friday for the U.S. Naval Academy graduation and commissioning and their air show performances on May 28-29 in Millville, N.J., have been canceled.

The USNA flyover instead will be performed by Strike Fighter Squadron 143 (VFA-143), based out of Naval Air Station Oceana, Va.

The Blue Angels will remain in Pensacola, Fla., for more training and practice.

The Blue Angels already canceled a practice demonstration and air show on Tuesday and Wednesday at the USNA in Annapolis, Md.

The cancellations are due to a "safety stand-down period" imposed by the team’s commanding officer after a lower-than-normal maneuver that took place during the team’s last performance May 22 at the Lynchburg Regional Air Show.
