Bird Knocks Out Power in Northeast D.C.

A bird caused a power outage that affected thousands of customers in northeast D.C. Sunday morning.

The bird flew into a piece of equipment, causing 2,751 customers to lose power, according to Pepco.

Crews worked in the 4800 block of Hayes Street NE to restore feeders.

The utility restored power by about 2:30 p.m.
