Bike Crash Officer Put on Leave

Arnell Robinson had celebrated his 20th birthday just a month ago and was getting ready to start a firefighters cadet class.
The officer involved in the bike crash that killed a 20-year-old man has been put on administrative leave with pay today.
An autopsy of Arnell Robinson, who died after being sent to Howard University Hospital with allegedly non-life-threatening injuries Friday night, has also been completed.
Robinson's family has called for a full investigation of his death.
Arnell Robinson lost control of his dirt bike and crashed into a stopped, unmarked police cruiser at O Street and New Jersey Avenue in Northwest Washington Friday. The police officer had pulled over and stopped to let several dirt bikes pass when the crash happened.
The officer, whose identity is being withheld at this time, was not physically injured.
Robinson, who was waiting to start a cadet class with the D.C. fire department, graduated from the D.C. National Guard's Youth Academy in 2007. He had taken an EMT class as a steppingstone toward becoming a firefighter, a job he had wanted since he was a child, his mother Caroline told The Washington Post.
Police have not released any further details.
