Bicyclist Struck, Killed by Freight Train

HYATTSVILLE, Md. -- A man on a bicycle was struck and killed by a freight train in Hyattsville Thursday.

The man was about 30 years old, Prince George's County Fire Department spokesman Mark Brady said.

Rescuers went to the scene near Rhode Island Avenue and Crittenden Street at about 1 p.m.

Police are investigating what caused the man to be struck.
