Bicyclist Shot, Killed in Northeast D.C.

Police are searching for the gunman who shot and killed a bicyclist in northeast Washington.

The shooting happened at the 1600 block of Lincoln Road at 8 Monday.  Metropolitan police said officers responded to the scene after hearing gunshots. 

The victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police said the victim's name is Eric Kearney, age 22, of northeast D.C.

In January, a man was shot and killed nearby at Truxton Park.  That case remains open.

Also Monday night, a man was shot and killed at a Southeast gas station.  The incident occurred at 2917 Martin Luther King Avenue.

Police identified the victim in this shooting as 37-year-old Mohammed Muktar Abdulselam, also of Northeast.
