Bicyclist Killed in Silver Spring

Montgomery County police are investigating a fatal collision involving a bicyclist in Silver Spring Sunday night.

Around 9 p.m., Jesus Antonia Hernandez, 23, who was not wearing a helmet, was riding his bike on the southbound side of Fenton Street. He entered the intersection of Silver Spring Avenue on a red light.

Maria Inciong, 79, the driver of a 2004 Toyota Corolla, was traveling westbound on Silver Spring Avenue and approached Fenton Street. She struck Hernandez, authorities say.

Hernandez was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

The collision remains under investigation. Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed this fatal collision to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620
