Delaware State Police identified a man killed in a highway collision near Georgetown.

Troopers identified the man Saturday as 78-year-old Thomas F. Ferry of Bethesda, Md. The collision that killed Ferry happened at about 11 a.m. Friday on Seashore Highway. Ferry was traveling east in an SUV when he crossed into oncoming traffic for an unknown reason, troopers said.

Ferry's vehicle then hit a pickup truck being driven by 65-year-old Thomas Slaughter of Bridgeville.

Ferry was pronounced dead at the scene. Slaughter was treated for minor injuries at a hospital and released.

The crash is under investigation.
