A bear cub wandered onto Interstate 270 near Father Hurley Drive Sunday morning and was hit by a car.
Montgomery County police located the cub in the nearby woods and had to put it down due to the severity of its injuries.
On Twitter, the police reported the bear was estimated to weigh about 150 pounds. It did not have any tags on it.
Police said there were no injured motorists.
