Is that you Barack?

Time's are tough.  People across the country are trying to fight the economic downturn by picking up second jobs.

Even President-elect Barack Obama has found a way to earn some extra cash.

Wait, you mean that's not Obama touting a local dental service on Metro ads in D.C.?

Could have fooled us.  Some local bloggers also have noticed a strong similarity between the man in these ads for a Dupont Circle dentist and the next POTUS.

What do you think?  Is Barack moonlighting as a teeth model?

  • Jeff Thursday, Dec 11 at 3:18 PM FLAG COMMENT I'm a bit surprised at the offhanded comments on this story. I am one of the bloggers who wrote about this dental ad (thanks for the link NBC). My blog post may start with the similarities between this man and Obama but the piece goes on to talk about more serious issues of self- and cultural-identity.
  • Fawning News Tuesday, Dec 9 at 1:58 PM FLAG COMMENT There are good reasons that the N.Y. Times, et. al. are approaching bankruptcy. This story is a great example showing why people quit reading the "news." Gossip, fawning, and sensationalism are the "news" of the day.
  • Wes Tuesday, Dec 9 at 1:05 PM FLAG COMMENT Haven't seen many Black people eh? There is no similarity other than skin color. It amazes me to still see that so many people still think all people of color look the same. Me, I'm a skinny light-skinned Black guy, and I ALWAYS get the "Hey, you look like Mayor Fenty!" and when I wear a suit, I get the "Hey, are you an Obama look-alike?" Jeesh people, open your circle of friends or something.

  • justareader Tuesday, Dec 9 at 12:56 PM FLAG COMMENT It is shameful that journalists cannot find sufficient newsworthy items to write about. The only reason I clicked on this article was to read the comments from other readers and it clearly shows that we, the public, are in sync with each other's views. Perhaps it is time for a few journalists to join the unemployment lines.
