The FBI is investigating a bank robbery that occurred just blocks from the agency's headquarters Friday morning.
Sources tell News4 that a man walked into the Capital One Bank branch at 701 Pennsylvania Ave. NW and passed a letter demanding cash to a teller. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the man fled the scene on foot. Authorities believe the man made his escape via the nearby Archives-Navy Memorial Metro station.
No injuries were reported and it is not clear if the man had a weapon. The Capital One Bank branch is two blocks from the FBI's offices at 935 Pennsylvania Ave. NW.
