Police are looking for the gunman who shot and robbed a customer at a bank in Takoma Park that was the scene of a robbery and hostage situation last year. News4's Jackie Bensen reports.

Authorities say a bank customer was robbed and shot outside a Takoma Park bank.

Takoma Park police say the customer was leaving the bank in the 1100 block of University Boulevard about 7 p.m. Monday when he confronted by the robber. The victim was shot and taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It was not clear how much money was taken.

Police say the assailant was described as having a medium to dark complexion and weighing 170 to 190 pounds. Authorities say he was wearing a black hat and jacket, black of gray shoes and gray pants.

The bank is the same one where a robbery and hostage situation ended with police shooting and killing the suspect in January 2011.
