Baltimore Ravens Players Pause on Field During Game to Watch Phelps Victory

That's some serious Baltimore pride!

Baltimore Ravens and Carolina Panthers players literally stopped on the field during Thursday night's preseason game to watch celebrated U.S. swimmer Michael Phelps win his 22nd gold medal in a stunning victory.

Phelps -- a Maryland native from the Baltimore area -- blew away fellow American Ryan Lochte, who placed fifth, in the 200-meter individual medley as their 13-year rivalry came to a head.

And clearly, it was just too big of a battle for the Ravens and Panthers to miss... even though they were in the midst of their own competition.

"Panthers and Ravens players stopped on the field to watch Phelps win his 22nd gold medal," read a tweet from the official Baltimore Ravens Twitter account. "Baltimore proud."

They resumed the game shortly afterward, with a win for the Ravens. But Phelps' win wasn't quickly forgotten -- even while celebrating his own team's victory, Ravens Coach John Harbaugh congratulated Phelps during the post-game press conference.
