Baby Girl Reunited With Mother

Caretaker returned infant to mother 11 hours later than planned

A three-month-old girl who went missing for several hours has been reunited with her mother.

Metro Transit Police say that the girl's mother left the infant in the care of 19-year-old Chabria Murphy, of Southeast,  at the Anacostia Metro station at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Murphy in the infant agreed to return to the station at 3 p.m. the same day.

When the rendezvous did not take place as planned, the girl's mother went to the police, who say the other woman returned to the station nearly 11 hours later than planned, at around 1:40 a.m. Saturday.

Investigators have not said if charges will be filed in this case.
