BWI Passes Dulles International as Region's Busiest Airport

Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport is now the busiest airport in the D.C. region, the Washington Examiner reports.

Last year BWI saw 22.7 million passengers. That makes BWI the 23rd busiest airport in the country.

Dulles International fell to the 24th spot. Dulles saw 22.4 million passengers -- a 2.9 percent decrease from 2011.

Regan National remained in the 26th spot. Reagan National served 19.6 million passengers in 2012. That's a 4.2 percent spike from the year prior.

The nation's busiest airport is Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International. That airport saw more than 95.1 million passengers last year. Chicago's O'Hare took the No. 2 spot, followed by Los Angeles International at No. 3.
