BW Parkway Crash Kills 1, Injures 3

A car ran off the Baltimore-Washington Parkway in the Laurel, Md., area Thursday night, killing one person and seriously injuring three others, authorities said.

The car struck several trees along the northbound lanes of the parkway near Route 197 at about 10:15 p.m., U.S. Park Police spokesman Sgt. David Schlosser said.

Prince George's County fire department spokesman Mark Brady said four people were trapped in the vehicle and had to be rescued and taken to local hospitals. Brady said officials closed the highway to land helicopters to take at least two people to hospitals.

Sebrone J. King, 28, of Burtonsville, later died.

Schlosser said the parkway reopened at about 3 a.m. Friday.

Any witnesses should call the Park Police tip line at 202-610-8737.
