Attempted Sexual Assault in Fredericksburg: Police

A homeless woman says a man grabbed her by the arm on Sunday morning and demanded she perform a sexual act

A man attempted to sexually assault a homeless woman in Fredericksburg, Va., over the weekend, police said.

According to authorities, the woman told police she was walking through the parking lot of a business in the 1100 block of Lafayette Boulevard just after 10 a.m. Sunday when she saw the man sitting in a car. The man got out of the vehicle, grabbed the victim by the arm and demanded she perform a sex act, police said.

The woman managed to break free and ran from the scene unharmed, police said.

Police are looking for a white man in his 50s, standing about 5-feet-9-inches tall and weighing about 260 pounds. He was wearing a blue T-shirt, blue baseball cap and black plants. The vehicle was described as a silver, newer model four-door sedan.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing. Police ask anyone with information to please contact officials.
