At Least 45 Charged in Va. Drug Bust

More than 45 people have been charged in state and federal court following a massive drug bust by federal and local authorities in the Manassas area.

"Operation Bull Run" culminated Thursday with the arrest of dozens of alleged drug dealers as part of a two-year investigation. Federal charges were filed against 25 individuals and state charges were filed against more than 20.

The charges include drug and firearm trafficking. During the course of the operation, undercover agents made more than 200 controlled purchases of drugs and firearms. More than $1 million worth of drugs, including heroin and cocaine, was either purchased or seized.

Authorities said those charged included midlevel and street-level drug dealers. Four people charged in federal court remain at large.
