Arrests Made in Taxi Driver Robberies

Two individuals charged with three of the recent cab robberies.

The Metropolitan Police Department says that arrests have now been made in the recent robberies of D.C. cab drivers.

News4 previously reported that eleven cab drivers in the District have been either carjacked or robbed this month.

Police say this past weekend, they arrested Henry Delonta Williams, a 25-year-old resident of Southeast D.C., and a 15-year-old juvenile from Capitol Heights, Md.  Both individuals were charged with three of the cab robberies.

According to DC police, the suspects seem to be primarily hailing cabs in areas near Metro stations.

Police say to contact them if the emergency 911 beacon on top of a cab is flashing.  Anyone with information is asked to call (202) 727-9099.
