Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department arrested a 15-year-old boy from southeast D.C. Saturday

Police arrested a 15-year-old boy in the shooting of a man in the face inside a downtown Washington, D.C., McDonald’s bathroom Friday.

Metropolitan Police Department officers arrested the teen from southeast D.C. Saturday. He is charged with assault with intent to kill, police said.

The shooting just after noon at the restaurant next to the Verizon Center sent the lunch crowd scattering.

The shooter and the victim had some sort of "interaction" prior to the shooting, police said. Investigators believe the shooting was not random.

Two men went to the victim's aid. One grabbed napkins to try to stop the bleeding, and another took off his shirt and put it around the victim's head where he had been shot.

The victim is in serious but stable condition.
