Armed Robbery of Northwest D.C. Gas Station Across From 9:30 Club

Clerk saw two armed men enter

Police are investigating yet another armed robbery in Northwest, the latest in a troubling trend in D.C.

The robbery happened just after 4 a.m. at a Crown Gas station on the 900 block of Florida Avenue, across the street from the 9:30 Club.

The clerk said he watched as two armed men enter the shop portion of the gas station.  As the two walked through the front door, the clerk said he dropped to the floor and crawled into the bathroom, where he locked the door.

Since he was barricaded inside the bathroom, the clerk was unable to say exactly what might have gone missing.

On Monday, three robberies took place in Northwest D.C., on the heels of a weekend where several snatch-and-grab and home burglaries took place.

Police say at least two different groups of robbers might be responsible for those crimes, one armed with guns and the other group riding bicycles.
