Arlington Woman Feared Estranged Husband Accused of Her Murder, Documents Show

The Arlington woman found murdered in her home earlier this year lived in fear of her estranged husband, who is accused of killing her, court documents released Thursday show.

Bonnie Black, 42, said she felt like she was living in a "Scream" movie, newly released search warrants say she had told a coworker. The psychologist reportedly said she feared that her husband, David Black, would burst into her home at any moment, the documents say.

"You are never going to see the children again," David Black, 46, told his wife, records describing a bitter divorce and custody battle say.

Bonnie Black was found dead April 17 in her home on the 1100 block of 18th Street South, in the Aurora Heights neighborhood. Her 5-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son discovered her mother and went into the street in their pajamas looking for help, police said. A neighbor spotted the children and called for help.

The murder was the first in Arlington this year.

David Black, a construction worker, was arrested and charged with murder after a grand jury returned an indictment on Oct. 29.

Investigators questioned him initially and then returned to his home in September to search for evidence, as News4 reported. His lawyer said then that his client was innocent.

He previously has been arrested for assault and harassment, and as a juvenile was arrested for stabbing another teenager, the documents say.

David Black remains jailed without bond, pending trial.
