Apparent Child Abduction Attempt Was Newspaper Delivery

advertisement

An attempted child abduction case in Takoma Park was not what it first seemed.

A 12-year old boy told police that a man jumped out of a car and started chasing him Friday morning near Cockerville and Kansas avenues. The boy ran home.

After an investigation, police determined that the man was delivering newspapers in the area as he does every morning.

He was apparently behind schedule that day and was running toward a house to make a drop.

Police closed the case.
