Another Va. School Staffer Accused of Pedophile Tendencies

Prince William County Police

Well, it was a good run.

It sure has been an exciting day of pedophilia in northern Virginia!

Earlier, news broke of the arrest of a "part-time wrestling coach" (full-time hobo?) in Fairfax County. "Coach" Gary Anthony Debrielle may have been a fine athletic instructor, but he also tried to solicit sex with (a cop posing as) a 14-year-old girl in "Internet chats," and that's not cool. Nor is it legal! He is in jail.

But later this afternoon, the pedophile watch shifted to a teacher in Prince William County, The Washington Post reported -- and this one allegedly likes boys.

A Prince William County teacher turned himself in to police Monday after he was charged with inappropriately touching a 15-year-old boy, police said Tuesday.

Shannon Arnold Patterson, a 32-year-old teacher at Beville Middle School in Dale City, is charged with taking "indecent liberties" with children and with using a communication system to facilitate certain offenses with children.

"A communication system to facilitate certain offenses with children" -- did he have CIA equipment or something?

No, just the standard teenager communication system of "sexting," except Shannon Arnold Patterson is not a teenager:

Police received a complaint that Patterson had inappropriately touched one of the male students off school property between November 2008 and July 2009. Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez said police began investigating and later learned that Patterson also sent inappropriate text messages to another male student.

Northern Virginia public schools: some of the best in the nation.
