Teen Dies in Annapolis's First Homicide of 2011

UPDATE: Police identified the suspect as 54-year-old Clifton William Tutt. He allegedly shot Teon Wallace during an argument.

Wallace was wanted on several warrants. He allegedly threatened a woman with a gun in July.

A teen died in the first homicide of the year in Annapolis, Md., police said.

Teon Leander Wallace, 19, was found suffering from a gunshot wound about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of Monroe Street, about one block from Bay Ridge Avenue.

He was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center where he died about an hour later.

“We were able to locate a suspect very quickly, according to information from callers,” Detective Amy Miguez said.

Wallace was fighting with another man on the street when he was shot, according to investigators.

Officers tracked that man down and took him into custody about one block away from where the shooting happened. His identity has not been released.
