An American University student reported being sexually assaulted in a dorm room Wednesday morning, school officials say.
The student was visiting another student's dorm room at the time of the assault. The suspect and victim know one another, according to a crime alert posted by the university.
No further details were released.
Both university and local police are investigating the incident.
