Gunfire Injures One in Loudoun County

    The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in the Great Falls Chase community of Loudoun County.

    Around 5:00am on August 6th, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched the 20900 block of Chippoaks Forest Circle regarding an altercation at that residence. Deputies arrived to find several people in the home, with one suffering from a gunshot wound. At some point during an altercation in the home, a gun was fired, striking a victim.

    Due to a lack of cooperation from the residents, Sheriff’s Office activated the Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team (S.E.R.T.) to secure the home and the weapon. The Reverse 911 system advising was also activated warning residents in the area to stay in their homes as a precaution. The home has since been secured and the firearm has been recovered.

    The victim is currently at a local hospital being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
