Pr. George's Air Alert Forecast for Monday

Temperatures into 90s Sunday, more heat expected Monday

Sunday's Code Orange air quality alert continues into Monday in Prince George's County.

A Code Orange alert refers to air that is unhealthy for sensitive groups, due to a combination of sunlight, heat, and emissions from vehicles, power plants,  and other sources.

It is recommended that people with heart or lung diseases (such as asthma), as well as older adults and children limit prolonged or heavy exertion outdoors.

Temperatures are expected to reach into the mid-80s in the D.C. area Monday, but showers and thunderstorms should bring some relief Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
