After 11 years, a local mother is one step closer to the closure she has been seeking following the stabbing death of her son.
On Wednesday, Laurel police arrested Michael Andre Duvall, 58, in connection with the 2005 death of Brian Moses.
Police found Moses, 20, semi-conscious inside a car in the 1000 block of West Street on Sept. 15, 2005. He was transported to the hospital with a stab wound to his chest.
"It was one stab wound, and it punctured his lungs and his heart," Moses' mother, Shirley Bell, told News4 last year.
Bell died three weeks later. But before his death, Bell said she promised her son that she would find his killer.
"And that's something that haunts me every day -- that I haven't been able to get that closure," Bell said last year.
In March 2016, police used additional investigative techniques and tools to find new witnesses in the case. A grand jury indicted Duvall last month, and he was charged with common law murder, police said Thursday.

Duvall was taken into custody at a Washington, D.C., halfway house Wednesday, police added.
Police have not said whether Moses and the suspect knew one another.
Laurel Police Chief Richard McLaughlin said he delivered the news to Bell in person.
“It was a tremendous pleasure to tell her that after 11 years, there’s an arrest,” McLaughlin said in a press release Thursday.
In addition to the murder charge, police say Duvall is also facing a first-degree assault charge for an unrelated case in Washington, D.C. He will be extradicted to Prince George's County.
