Actor Hill Harper to Visit Juvenile Inmates in D.C.

"CSI: NY'' actor Hill Harper is scheduled to visit the District of Columbia Department of Corrections' juvenile unit to talk about his recently released book.

Harper is scheduled to meet Thursday with the 18 juveniles who participate in the Free Minds Book Club and Writing Workshop. He'll talk about his book "Letters to an Incarcerated Brother: Encouragement, Hope and Healing for Inmates and Their Loved Ones'' for about an hour and a half. The book was released earlier this month.

Youth in the Free Minds Book Club have read Harper's previous four books. They received his new one this week.

The Free Minds program serves approximately 40 incarcerated teenagers per year. Book club members are 16 and 17 years old and have been charged as adults.
