Accused High-End Eyewear Thieves Collared

Three responsible for 4 robberies: police

Public's tips helped police focus on a group of three accused of lifting expensive eyewear from Fairfax stores.

Fairfax Police said the group worked together in four robberies, from July 6 until November 10.  According to investigators, the three went after expensive frames made by brands like Gucci.

This week, detectives arrested two in the crimes: Arthina Cecilia Leake-Hall, 52, of D.C., and Norlin Keith Washington, 43, of Accokeek.

Both are charged with grand larceny and larceny with intent to steal.

Fairfax Police said the suspected thieves used a similar method in each of the four incidents.  Multiple suspects enter the store, and one suspect tries to block the shopkeeper’s line of sight, while the other looks for glasses to loot.  Police said the suspect would pick up expensive frames, and then swap them with similar-looking but cheaper pairs.

The third suspect, Robert Wilson, 53, remains at large.  Police say Wilson is 5 feet 5 inches, 130 pounds, and goes by the nicknames 'Link' or 'Linky.'
