A serious accident closed Clara Barton Parkway in Montgomery County in both directions on Wednesday morning.
Park Police said at 4:41 a.m. a single vehicle overturned on the roadway there. One person was transported to the hospital, and there may have been another person in the car.
The Parkway was closed between MacArthur Boulevard and Carderock for the accident investigation. There was some confusion earlier this morning when flares on the roadway went out and motorists drove up to the accident scene, where they had to be turned around.
News4 Melissa Mollet reports that at 7 a.m., a tow truck was pulling the vehicle from the woods just off the roadway and the parkway was expected to reopen shortly after.
